What will I learn?

The secondary education major is designed for students seeking Nebraska certification to teach in secondary content areas in grades 7-12, or in PK-12 settings in the areas of Art, Music, or Physical Education. This major allows students to explore developmental issues of children, learning theory, secondary content area(s), and teaching methods. One of the strengths of the preparation program is the field experiences with local school districts.

The secondary major is designed to prepare candidates to meet Nebraska Department of Education requirements for teacher certification. A minimum of 120 credits hours with a minimum GPA of 2.75 are required to graduate from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Candidates may choose from several program options.

You are currently enrolled or you鈥檝e completed high school and have never enrolled at or attended another college or university after high school.

English Proficiency Requirements:

TOEFL/IBT/PBT: 61/500

DUOLINGO ENGLISH EXAM: 95

IELTS: 6.0

PTE Academic: 44
