Our bachelor of science in information science and technology is a STEM degree that will provide you with the necessary skills to connect people and technology in today's workforce. Your classes will include a core set of courses that will provide you with an understanding of programming concepts, data structures, tools for project control, web design, database essentials, computer architecture, internet applications, telecommunications networks, computer networking, technology management and e-commerce.
Experiential Learning is an essential aspect of Missouri S&T's unique learning environment. Our Strategic Plan defines that 100% of our undergraduate students must graduate with a significant experiential learning experience. Experiential Learning at Missouri S&T refers to learning stimulated by a variety of structured activities that differ significantly from the traditional lecture format. Experiential learning activities are designed to require students to go beyond mastering basic skills and knowledge in the application of that material to problem solving challenges. These activities involve collaboration and reflective learning and allow students to learn in environments that align with their aptitudes. Students will work with their academic advisor to develop a plan to complete this graduation requirement.
Our bachelor of science degree in information science and technology consists of 120 credit hours. As a student in the program, you will be required to complete a general education requirements core. A grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better is required in the IST core, IST electives, management, economics, and information technology courses. You will have nine credit hours for free electives.
