Program Description:
The Department of Biological Sciences offers the following degree programs: Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science. Students can focus their studies in health professions (e.g., medicine, dentistry, optometry), molecular & cellular biology, microbiology, conservation biology, and ecology.
Our curriculum fosters critical thinking and scientific reasoning, with a breadth of courses. A 200-acre biology preserve on campus, and nearby parks and preserves such as the Beavercreek Wetlands, provide excellent opportunities for terrestrial and aquatic field studies, as do field-based courses like ornithology and Amazon ecology.
Biological Sciences, BS, Biology Education Concentration Program Description:
Students interested in teaching biology in Ohio public high schools may pursue their B.S. degree in Biological Sciences and upon completion they will enter the M.Ed graduate program in the College of Health, Education, and Human Services for licensure. Minimum requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree in biology include successfully completing the required courses, with a GPA of at least 2.25 for all biology-specific courses, as well as completing university and college degree requirements.

Students must have earned a certificate of completion from a secondary education school that would allow you to attend university in your home country. You should have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level.
You must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and minimum score of English proficiency from one of these tests: TOEFL 61; IELTS: 5.5 with no sub score lower than 5.0; Pearson PTE: 51; Duolingo: 110; Cambridge test: Minimum scaled score of 162, with no subscore below 154, on the Cambridge English Qualifications; graduation from a United States high school.
Application dealine: April 30 for fall admission, October 10 for spring admission, February 28 for Summer admission.
