What will I learn?

The combined B.A. /M.A. degree program allows students to earn a B.A. in Crime and Justice Studies and an M.A. in Applied Behavioral Sciences in 5 years. Up to 9 semester credit hours of graduate electives at the 7000 level may be double counted and applied to both the B.A. and M.A. degree requirements.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates will have substantive knowledge of procedures and operations in law enforcement, corrections, probation, parole or legal agencies.

Graduates of the program will be effective writers

Graduates will acquire practical experience in the field of criminal justice.

Students will demonstrate graduate level knowledge concerning computer based statistical processing software.

Students will demonstrate graduate level quantitative and qualitative skills as appropriate to the study of criminal justice and social problems.

Students will demonstrate formal graduate level writing skills appropriate for the creation of graduate theses/projects and the production of research articles.

Students will learn to utilize their skills in the creation and administration of applied programs in both public and private agencies.

Entry requirements

For international students

To participate in the combined-degree program, students must meet the following qualifications: Senior standing for the semester they start the combined-degree program; 3.2 or better cumulative grade point average on all undergraduate work; Undergraduate advisor鈥檚 approval, and A recommendation from the ABS program to be accepted in the program.

English proficiency from one of these tests: TOEFL 61; IELTS: 5.5 with no sub score lower than 5.0; Pearson PTE: 51; Duolingo: 110; Cambridge test: Minimum scaled score of 162, with no subscore below 154, on the Cambridge English Qualifications; graduation from a United States high school.

Application dealine: April 30 for fall admission, October 10 for spring admission, February 28 for Summer admission.
