What will I learn?

The MFA Curriculum is designed to promote a candidate鈥檚 progress through our stated objectives: Choreography, Communication, Moving, Teaching, and Career Planning.

Included in these are courses in dance studies, somatic, pedagogy, and two semesters devoted to an innovative lab team taught by our faculty and designed in collaboration with students. The final year of study is devoted to synthesizing the above objectives evidenced by the production of the candidate鈥檚 choreography, their written thesis document, oral presentation, and plans for propelling students' career into the professional sphere.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have earned at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college in the United States or a comparable degree from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (A=4.0), or comparable GPA for an international applicant, for last two years of undergraduate study is a minimum requirement for admission.

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL iBT - 79-102

TOEFL CBT - 213-253

TOEFL PBT - 550-610

IELTS (academic exam) - 6.5-7.0
