Healthcare informatics merges computer technology and clinical expertise to effectively organize, analyze, manage and use clinical knowledge and data for problem solving and decision making. Knowing that these skills are valuable to future pharmacists, SIUE offers a concurrent Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in healthcare informatics (MSHI) program.

Admission to the concurrent degree program is limited and competitive. Students who choose to pursue this option will begin to take courses for the Master of Science in healthcare informatics (MSHI) only after they have completed the first year of the professional pharmacy program (P1). Students must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the P1 year.
