Upon completion of this certificate program, participants will have gained:
Knowledge of advanced computer systems and software development
Advanced knowledge of selected areas of modern computing including but not limited to intelligent information systems, parallel and distributed computing systems, computer networks, and software engineering
Understanding of new advances in the discipline of computing such as neural and evolutionary computing, image processing, and data science
A route into the MS programs in Computer Science at UMass Dartmouth
Requirements
Students are required to:

2. Take any three CIS 500/600 level courses.

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field from an accredited (if U.S.) institution of higher learning or be enrolled in such a baccalaureate degree program, with degree completion anticipated prior to graduate enrollment. Applicants who lack a bachelor鈥檚 degree may be considered for admission, in some programs, if they can demonstrate convincingly that they have the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in the discipline of their choice.
We require a minimum score of 72 IBT on the TOEFL or BAND 6.0 on the IELTS for entrance to any program and a minimum score of 79 IBT on the TOEFL or BAND 6.5 on the IELTS for consideration for a teaching assistantship.
The application deadline for fall and summer term is March 15 and spring term is Jan 17.
