What will I learn?

BU’s College of Engineering offer professionals the opportunity to develop advanced-level expertise in a focused area of study and are ideal for those who either cannot commit to a full degree program, or who already have an advanced degree and are looking for additional technical training. Certificates are offered in the following areas under the umbrella of the Department of Mechanical Engineering:

This fast-track program require students to complete 12 credits (three courses), and students may attend classes in person or via Distance Learning. Courses completed for certificate programs can also be used to satisfy applicable requirements for Master of Science degree programs, and current MEng, MS, and PhD students can also earn certificates as they fulfill the requirements.

Energy & Sustainability

Promotes and recognizes acquired graduate-level expertise in the area of energy and sustainability, including solar energy, sustainable power systems, and green manufacturing.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants applying to any MEng, MS, or post-bachelor’s PhD program must have earned (or expect to earn) a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.

English Proficiency Minimum Scores Requirement: TOEFL – 90; IELTS - 7.0.
