Many students are not ready to choose a specific academic program of study when first entering the university. Exploratory programs provide students an opportunity to discover the options available at ASU, and they are provided the time, resources and guidance needed to assess their skills, interests and aptitudes.Declaring exploratory status permits students to begin meeting General Studies requirements that all ASU graduates must fulfill. It also allows students to take some time to explore a variety of academic courses that may lead to a potential major interest.

You鈥檙e considered a first-year student if you graduated from a regionally accredited high school or earned your GED, and you never attended college or have fewer than 12 transferable college credit hours.
First-year students must have a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) (a "B" or better where "A"=4.00) from a secondary school.
English proficiency
TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) - the minimum score is 79
TOEFL pBT (paper-based test) - minimum score is 63
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum score of 6.5.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) - minimum score of 58.
Duolingo English test - minimum score of 105.
Application deadline: Spring - November 1; Fall - May 1.
