What will I learn?

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree program at Washington State University鈥檚 School of Design and Construction is fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The M.Arch degree, combined with professional experience approved by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and completion of the Architect Registration Examination庐 (ARE庐) ensures one is prepared to practice architecture.

Throughout the program students engage in design and scholarship that offers new insights into the role of architecture in our culture, civilization, and environment. Within this context our students challenge existing conventions and offer innovative approaches germane to the critical issues facing the profession of architecture and the world today.

A range of activities and experiences such as lectures, exhibits, study tours, internships, studios, and project reviews provide opportunities for educational and professional engagement on the local, regional, national, and international levels.

For international students

1-year (accelerated) (2 semesters plus summer): for WSU students with a four-year, pre-professional undergraduate degree in architecture who have submitted application materials demonstrating a high level of design proficiency, and who have met all other admission conditions for the accelerated program by published deadlines.

2-year (4 semesters plus summer): typically for students with an undergraduate degree in architecture, or for those with a degree in an allied design discipline who have submitted application materials demonstrating the need for additional design experience.

3-year (6 semesters plus summer): typically for students with a non-architecture undergraduate degree, or for those with a degree in an allied design discipline who have submitted application materials demonstrating the need for additional design experience beyond a two-year timeframe.

TOEFL Minimum score: 550; TOEFLI Minimum score: 80; IELTS Minimum score: 7.0
