What will I learn?

An MBA program with a Health Analytics concentration is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a rewarding career in the healthcare industry. It prepares graduates to be successful in an ever-changing healthcare environment driven by data and analytics, with the ability to turn data into insight and action. This track helps transform students into analytical thinkers and leaders with the capability of tackling the large amounts of data in healthcare. They will build upon the MBA's core business curriculum of design thinking, financial, managerial, and operational courses that develop the analytical and leadership skills needed to interpret and solve real-world problems. Students will develop a strong foundation of data analytic skills that are in high demand and will propel their career trajectory in the healthcare industry.

Explore the vital roles of data, information, and information systems in the implementation and evaluation of healthcare and value-based care initiatives

Discuss the role of data and information in healthcare, and the need for data aggregation, management, and analytics strategies

Review possible sources, strengths, and weaknesses of different types of data for including clinical, financial and operational data, survey data, and social determinants of health

Provide a comprehensive overview of data science, the practice of obtaining, modeling and interpreting data into actionable insights

Describe the overarching principles of data science and identify different categories of data science algorithms and how it applies to healthcare outcomes

Utilize different types of machine learning algorithms, interpreting their output and justifying their application using R and interpreting the model results

Adopt data visualization techniques that contribute to effective presentations and dashboards

Illustrate the importance of defining metrics with Key Stakeholders to drive analytical insights

Explain how to visualize data with multiple Data displays such as charts graphs, heat maps, and combo charts

Entry requirements

For international students

Degree Prerequisite: Applicants are required to hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent upon evaluation of international transcripts prior to the start of the program.

GPA Requirement: A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is preferred.

TOEFL IBT & IBT Home Edition: 80 (no sub-score below 20)

TOEFL Essentials: 8.5 (no sub-score below 8)

IELTS: 6.5 (no sub-score below 6)

Duolingo Exam: 115

Pearson PTE Academic Exam: 53
