Program Description:
The Department of Physics offers programs leading either to a Bachelor of Science degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics. Students in secondary education may earn the Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and enter the Professional Year Experience program of the College of Education and Human Services for licensure in physics.
Minimum requirements for the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in physics include successfully completing the required courses, with a GPA of at least 2.0 for all physics courses, as well as completing university and college degree requirements.
The Department of Physics offers an honors program designed to provide superior students with a program that offers greater creativity and intellectual challenge. Students who wish to participate in this program must apply to the department during the spring quarter before they plan to enter the honors program. Interested students should have at least a 3.2 GPA overall and at least a 3.2 in physics courses numbered 3000 and above. To graduate with honors in physics, students are required to complete at least two 4000-level PHY courses above and beyond those required by the program.
The Bachelor of Arts in physics degree is designed for students who wish to couple a solid foundation in physics to a non-technical and creative arts field, such as writing, philosophy, political science, or other College of Liberal Arts majors. Likewise, students can obtain technical background in physics along with obtaining a background in business for those interested in business development opportunities.

Students must have earned a certificate of completion from a secondary education school that would allow you to attend university in your home country. You should have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level.
You must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and minimum score of English proficiency from one of these tests: TOEFL 61; IELTS: 5.5 with no sub score lower than 5.0; Pearson PTE: 51; Duolingo: 110; Cambridge test: Minimum scaled score of 162, with no subscore below 154, on the Cambridge English Qualifications; graduation from a United States high school.
Application dealine: April 30 for fall admission, October 10 for spring admission, February 28 for Summer admission.
