The Master of Fine Arts in theatre is a three-year program of intensive professional training in the student鈥檚 area of specialization in acting, scenic design, costume design, lighting design, theatre management or stage management.
Program Requirements
The Master of Fine Arts with a Major in Theatre is offered only as a Plan C master鈥檚 program, requiring sixty credits in the area of specialization. All programs require a final project and a final oral examination relevant to the degree specialization. All course work must be completed in accordance with the regulations of the Graduate School and the College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts.

To be considered for graduate admission, an applicant must hold or be completing an earned baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing and have adequate preparation with discernible ability to pursue graduate studies in the major field elected.
