UL offers a comprehensive selection of degree programmes, which are continually refined and updated to ensure that course content remains accurate and relevant to the demands of industry and academia. The university ensures the curriculum remains at the cutting edge of higher education and embraces new and emerging technologies in the delivery of their tuition.

UL has recently added several new courses to its impressive portfolio, including master鈥檚 degrees in Business Analytics, Sports Journalism, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Edge Computing, Public Health, Artificial Intelligence, and Public Administration.

UL has historically excelled in the annual Irish Survey of Student Engagement and has built an excellent academic reputation while investing steadily in the enhancement of the beautiful Limerick campus. In 2023, UL was crowned for the third time at the most recent Irish Education Awards and 鈥榯he quality of campus experience鈥� is frequently praised by the university student reviewers.

UL provides a rich and exciting campus experience, and in 2023 won 鈥楤est Student Campus鈥� award at the Education Ireland Awards. The is located within 130 hectares of beautiful Irish landscape; a peaceful green place with trees, fountains, and the River Shannon running through it, creating a memorable and positive impact on the student experience.

The university offers excellent on-campus accommodation options along with a range of caf茅s and restaurants. It also features the impressive Glucksman Library, a centre point of the campus with state of the art facilities including the ARC (Automated Reserve Collection).

UL is home to a thriving arts and cultural scene with some stunning art collections and a state-of-the-art Concert Hall which hosts some of the biggest names in performing arts such as Frankie Boyle and Van Morrison.

Known as 鈥業reland鈥檚 Sports Campus鈥�, UL is home to the National 50m swimming team.  Facilities also include a four courts sports hall, 25m diving pool, the National Strength and Conditioning Centre, fitness studio, and an indoor track.

UL is comprised of four academic faculties, offering a spanning a wide range of subject areas and qualification classifications. Each faculty also offers a Common Entry undergraduate programme, where students study a general first-year education, before specialising in their major before the start of their second year.The AHSS Faculty offers a Common Entry Bachelor of Arts programme with 16 subjects to choose from in first year, after which students will select two subjects to continue with and specialise in up to degree level.

UL has cultivated a reputation for the delivery of an outstanding quality of education, by its highly qualified and widely experienced team of academic staff. Tutors and lecturers are praised for their enthusiasm and commitment to the success of students and take an active role in their education. Many tutors have lived and worked overseas and have a wealth of experience and industry insight which they share through lectures, seminars, group and individual tutorial sessions.
 

In 2023, UL was ranked 86th overall by the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. Students at UL benefit from small class sizes, ensuring plenty of one-to-one contact with tutors, and a more personalised approach towards their education. Course content frequently involves industry-related assignments, which gives students a taste of real-world employment before graduation. These factors are listed by student reviewers as in their study experience, and contribute to the outstanding employability of the university鈥檚 graduates.

UL understand the decision to study  abroad  is a significant financial investment, and commits to supporting all students by offering a range of , available to international students.

Scholarships and bursaries are offered on merit based. Scholarships awarded to students who display academic excellence and a desire to succeed in their degree course and are an opportunity for hard working students to subsidise the cost of study.

Scholarships for non-EU fee paying international students range from 鈧�2,000 to 鈧�2, 500 and are awarded on merit

Employers hold the university in high regard, and completion of a degree course at UL makes graduates extremely desirable. In 2023, UL recorded a or further study rate of 94.8%, which is remarkably high, and a significant improvement on both the Irish and UK average.
