Other eligibility requirements

You’re eligible if you:

have received an offer to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework full-time program commencing in Semester 2, 2024
met the academic and English Language requirement for your chosen program of study
live in Australia and are currently on a valid

Bridging Visa ‘A’ (subclass 010) or
Bridging Visa ‘E’ (subclass 050) and have applied for:

Temporary Humanitarian Stay visa (Subclass 449)
Temporary Protection visa (Subclass 785)
Temporary Humanitarian Concern visa (Subclass 786)
Safe Haven Enterprise visa (Subclass 790)
or a Permanent Protection visa.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need/hardship

any other evidence which may be deemed relevant to your studies.

Application requirements

    You'll need:

    a copy of your current visa. If you are currently on a Bridging Visa A or E and have applied for a Protection visa, please provide a copy of the acknowledgement letter from Immigration
    a personal statement addressed 'To whom it may concern' dated and signed
    a Centrelink assistance statement (if applicable)
    your 3 most recent payslips (if currently employed). If unemployed please upload a statement explaining your unemployment
    your resume/CV
    your UQ offer letter for the chosen program of studies.

    You can also include:

    award/degree certificates, but we will check the admissions records for documents provided while applying for a program of studies at UQ
    references from employers, community organisations, academics or any other relevant group that wish to support your scholarship application.
