Other eligibility requirements

  • Superior Academic Achievement (equivalent to a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on the University of Alberta grading scale
  • Nominees in a master's program may hold awards during years one or two of the program and the nominees in the doctoral program may hold awards up to and including the fifth year of the program
  • Nominee's research must be carried out in any discipline pertaining to Northern studies
  • Selected on the basis of superior academic achievement (equivalent to a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on the University of Alberta grading scale
  • Preference will be given to a student who is engaged in aboriginal affairs or conservation in the Northwest Territories or the Arctic
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in masters programs.
  • Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.
