Academic excellence
Full-time graduate students entering a research-based master鈥檚 or doctoral program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.
Canadian Citizens, permanent residents of Canada or international students can be considered.
Selection to be based on academic excellence (minimum admission average of 85% or equivalent) and the statement of research interest as demonstrated through the student鈥檚 application for admission to the program.
This award will be in addition to the student鈥檚 guaranteed minimum funding for their first year.
This award can be held in conjunction with other awards.
Preference will be given to graduate students who have not received other named awards at the time of selection
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will identify candidates based on their application for admission and select a recipient normally each Spring.
Award description:
A scholarship, valued at a minimum of CAN $3,900, will be awarded annually to an outstanding graduate student entering a research-based master鈥檚 or doctoral program in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum admission average of 85% or equivalent) and their statement of research interest as demonstrated through their application for admission to the program. Preference will be given to graduate students who have not received other named awards at the time of selection. Selection will be made annually by the Electrical & Computer Engineering department. This fund is made possible by donations from Oliver Yang, Steven Yang, Howard Yang and Kanchana Chiamvimonvat to support the next generation of engineering talent while encouraging them to study and complete their research in Canada.
