Other eligibility requirements

The main purpose of the Awards is to support innovative graduate research in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Auckland. The Awards are intended to assist International graduate students and to foster international relationships. 

The Awards will be made to a student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in a Masters of Engineering, a Masters of Operations Research or a PhD degree in the Faculty of Engineering

The main Award will be awarded annually for a period of one year, and will be the value of up to NZ $10,000. From time to time, a further one or two Awards may be offered, each for a period of one year, and up to the value of NZ$5,000 each.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence

Selection criteria

The basis of selection will be academic potential, quality and relevance of the proposed research and its likely contribution to the standing of research in the Faculty.

The Awards will be made by the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of a Selection Committee comprising the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (or nominee), an academic of the Faculty of Engineering and one representative of the Donor.
