Academic excellence
Exceptional students from around the world who have demonstrated academic excellence, and who apply to one of UMass Lowell鈥檚 Master鈥檚 programs, may receive consideration for this merit-based scholarship.
Scholarship awards range from USD $1,000 to USD $5,000 and are provided for a total of four semesters (a maximum of USD $20,000) to students who pursue their studies full-time on campus. The award is available for up to five semesters (up to USD $25,000 total) to students pursuing a Master of Public Health degree.
The Graduate International Excellence Scholarships were created to help students advance their knowledge, their careers, and the rich diversity of UMass Lowell鈥檚 student population.
Applicants must apply to UMass Lowell by one of the priority deadlines (see below) for either the Fall 2025 start term, or Spring 2026, and pursue studies full-time on campus, in order to be considered.

You will be automatically considered for scholarship eligibility when you apply for the relevant course at this institution
Priority Application Deadlines: International applicants who plan to start their program in the Fall are strongly encouraged to apply by January 15 of that year. Top candidates who complete their application prior to January 15 and are admitted into their program of interest will be awarded this scholarship.
Applicants applying after January 15, 2025 and before February 15, 2025 priority deadline will also be considered if there are scholarships still available to be awarded.
Applicants who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements will automatically be given consideration to receive this award. There are no additional application requirements that need to be submitted.
