Students from African nations who meet the qualifications for admittance into a Master鈥檚 degree program will be awarded up to USD $20,000 in Graduate Scholarship funding.
Scholarship funds of USD $5,000 will be awarded over four consecutive semesters to students who maintain good academic standing in their program. The award is available for up to five semesters (up to USD $25,000 total) to students pursuing a Master of Public Health degree.
Students must apply by one of the priority deadlines (see below) for either the Fall 2025 start term, or Spring 2026, and pursue studies full-time on campus. These scholarships were created to help students advance their knowledge and careers, and to augment the rich diversity of UMass Lowell鈥檚 student population.

To receive the scholarship, you must meet the academic standards required for acceptance into your program of interest. If admitted, you will be awarded the $20,000 scholarship automatically. No additional application materials need to be submitted.
You will be automatically considered for scholarship eligibility when you apply for the relevant course at this institution
Priority Application Deadlines: Applicants from African nations who plan to start their program in the Fall are strongly encouraged to apply by January 15 of that year. Applicants who complete their application prior to January 15 and receive admission in their master鈥檚 program will be awarded a Graduate Scholarship for Scholars from African Nations.
Applicants applying after January 15, 2025 and before February 15, 2025 priority deadline will also be considered if there are scholarships still available to be awarded.
