I was in MDIS for 5 years. Let me tell you about my journey. I enrolled in 2012. Initially, i was very apprehensive because i didn't know what the environment was like and what i was really being exposed to. However, I decided to take the risk and join the mass communication prog. I started at PC and progressed to diploma. The lecturers were local and very experienced. They made studying a lot easier and stress-free especially with class schedules. I went on to adv dip and degree. I must say it was an amazing journey. I got lecturers from US during the degree prog and absolutely enjoyed every module. These lecturers, albeit from US, are true media professionals who will teach you what is essential. A lot of people complain about the admin system being flawed here but I'd like to disagree-I had no issues with the administrative department-I had one course coordinator who was slightly slow with responses when I was in diploma prog but soon she left and a new course coordinator came along when i joined advanced diploma and degree. MDIS was undergoing upgrading and renovations, but now the school looks better with new blocks and lecture theaters. The cafeteria was formerly run by Kopitiam and there was less option for food availability , plus it was too expensive but soon FoodHaven took over so it got better. If you're looking for relaxed timetable, good friends and great lecturers then MDIS is the right place for you. There is a hostel right beside campus for international students. You will also get to meet a lot of people from different countries as there are a lot of foreigners in different courses. Classes are usually 3-4 hours depending on the module and intensity of coursework. Each course has a different structure and timetable. Mine was pretty relaxed, I had a lot of time in hand to complete my post assignments and graduation projects. If you're looking to join media then I recommend MDIS being a better option compared to PSB or Kaplan. It is also a U.S certified degree unlike other private unis which offer Australian or UK degrees. Cost wise-slightly more expensive than other private schools but that also depends on how much you can afford. If you're a foreigner then finding a job in Singapore after that might be difficult but if you're local you can look into internships. This is not a paid post, neither sponsored-I am just an alumni sharing my experience. (Especially for those who intend to join the media prog.) I am not sure about other progs, but I had friends in school of business and tourism- they had different opinions. Just a heads up- don't expect private schools to be perfect, most of them are flawed but it all depends on you and how determine you are to do well. show less
