useful facilities for digital media

I like this university, it is a good experience for students to study here. There are a lot of available facilities for digital media students and a lot of useful tutorials for my course in this university.

Nothing to dislike

I really like the campus atmosphere. Its a very sufficient little township of its own and perfect for an academic lifestyle. I have enjoyed my course and my professors who have been very approachable. I can't think of anything to dislike.

work hard when the sun is out

I like the location of the university. The people are friendly too and I enjoyed my course and have found people to be very supportive. I dislike the expensive cost of living. I paid for a studio, I wish it was actually the cost of a studio. I dislike the academic timetable. Also we shouldn't have to work the hardest when the SUN IS FINALLY OUT!

There are not many scholarships available for international students. In my course we get way too many assignments as well. Accommodations at Sussex university are quite expensive, but I do recommend this university.

Was expecting more difficult work

I think that transportation should be cheaper for students, the university could make a deal to make busses or trains less expensive. As far as my course goes, I was expecting more of it, I thought it would be more difficult. I think physics students should have more electives and choices in course material.

Brighton rules!

Loved the area, Brighton is so diverse with greenery, the sea and city feel. Great place for students, good University, especially how everything was all in one campus which makes it feel safer and more homely, expect it's quite far from town which is the only downfall. Great mixture of students from all nationalities. The biggest challenge was finding a place to the live and who to live with, as it turns out living with a best friend doesn't always work out - you don't really know someone until you live with them! I wish I had savored being at university more and made use of every day!

disappointed in accommodation

I resent that the university allocated me to housing off campus, this means that I have to pay for transportation everyday to university. It is very expensive, at peak times the train tickets are 5 pounds. For a first year experience, even though I applied for housing in January, I am annoyed that there are second and third years living on campus and I am paying so much. You have to pay for everything here and there is no discount.

It has been a roller coaster experience studying abroad

Having a closed friend living in Brighton was playing a major role on choosing a university. It seemed that you can go through all the application problems when you have someone to talk to. The university did not have representative in my country but that was one of the challenges on applying foreign university. All my life experience in the university was up and down but overall I had so much things to learn. The university was providing help and support as many as they come. And it has been good enough. Yes, I would recommend the university to the future students in my country.

24 hour access

I think the great thing about sussex is the access to everything. You can wander into pevensey at any hour of the night any day and go study and use a computer. I live in stamner court so there is easy access to campus and I can get to town easily via the train right outside. I am disappointed, my course is not as interesting as I thought it would be, but I am satisfied with the nightlife (even though Greece is better). The student internal websites and archives are great as is the mobile app, very useful.

A postgraduate degree definitely worth doing.

I've really enjoyed my MA, I started it straight after my undergraduate degree in the same university. So in that sense there were no surprises - I knew I liked the town, the department, the lecturers, the social life... but I would say the overall standard is much higher. My lecturers are inspiring and I learn a lot from my class mates as well. I don't know if I've had to overcome challenges, but the workload is definitely a lot but then again you expect that from your MA and I felt prepared for it after my undergrad. I'm really glad I chose to stay another year.
