At , students won’t just learn about what other people have done, thought or said. They will learn by doing things for themselves. That’s because UEA believes students learn best by experiencing the challenges of the subject first hand.
Many of UEA’s lecturers and teachers are world experts, leading the way in their fields. Such as Dr Michael Wormstone, an expert in cataract research; Dr Paul Bernal, a published expert on internet privacy rights; Dr Eylem Atakav, who is running the first course in the UK on Women, Islam and Media; and Professor Matt Hutchings’ work discovering new antibiotics. Importantly, UEA staff are also just as dedicated to students and their studies, as they are to their own research.
This means studies are informed by the latest thinking and most up-to-date research. It also means that as well as gaining a solid grounding in the study area, students will graduate with in-depth knowledge of the aspects of their subject that are still emerging today.
The university also has a partnership with which offers academic preparation courses and English language programmes designed specifically for international students.
