Music - Music Industry Studies Concentration/Business Administration 4+1 (BA/MBA)

USA

What will I learn?

The four-year curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies degree contains required courses and electives that prepare the student for the Master in Business Administration (MBA) curriculum. With this 4+1 plan and the proper scheduling of MBA classes, music industry studies students may enter immediately into the MBA program fulltime with the possibility of completion within one year. Students are encouraged to take several undergraduate-level business courses during their junior year, with the guidance of their academic advisor, and two MBA-level courses in their senior year.

Students seeking admissions to the MBA program should connect with their undergraduate academic advisor to determine appropriate coursework (at the undergraduate and graduate level) to be completed in the initial four years.

Also, it is recommended that students interested in the Combined BA/MBA Program follow OPTION TWO (MATH115 or MATH 117) or OPTION THREE (one approved math course at 200-level or above) in fulfilling the Bachelor of Arts College Skill Requirements in the area of Mathematics.

Provisional admission to the MBA program may be obtained in the spring of a student’s junior year. Full graduate Undergraduate admission is based on the fulfillment of the undergraduate degree, GPA, quantitative skills, work experience, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, maturity, and a personal interview. Those accepted into the MBA program may be considered for graduate assistantships and graduate internships upon earning their bachelor’s degree.

Applicable tuition and fees are those for matriculated undergraduate students for the first four years. During the fifth year of study, and any subsequent period if it becomes necessary, applicable tuition and fees are those for matriculated MBA graduate students. The MBA degree is granted upon completing all requirements with a grade point average of at least 3.0.
