The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a young, dynamic and innovative university, which has made a name for itself as a leader for Australia鈥檚 next generation of universities.

UOW is among the top one per cent of universities worldwide (QS World University Rankings 2024). Welcoming an estimated 6,000 international students each year, this university is a diverse and vibrant place for students to commence their studies. Students can choose from over 360 programmes across the arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law, engineering and information technology, medicine and health.

UOW is truly a global university, with campus locations in Dubai, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia. Students may be eligible for a transfer discount of 30 per cent off their tuition fees for the subjects they choose to complete onshore in Australia.

The Australian Awards for University Teaching has presented the University of Wollongong with the Student Experiences and Learning Support Services award.

UOW received this for enhancing student鈥檚 learning experience through its co-curricular learning programme, UOWx. This award-winning initiative connects students with opportunities outside of their academic work.

Rankings

The University of Wollongong Australia has continued its global recognition through its . In the QS World University Rankings 2024, UOW was rated in the top one per cent of universities worldwide, and placed within the top 250 global institutions by:

• QS World University Rankings 2024 (placing 162^nd)
• U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2023 (186^th)
• Aggregate Ranking of Top Universities 2022 (placing 195^th)

Many of UOW鈥檚 subjects were highly awarded, with thirteen programmes ranked within the top 150 worldwide by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. These programmes included engineering, archaeology, geography, chemistry, nursing, law, sports-related subjects and technology.

The university was also recognised as the 14^th best modern university worldwide (QS Top 50 under 50 Rankings) and awarded five-plus stars in the QS Stars Rating 2024.

Scholarships

Students with a high level of academic achievement could be eligible for up to 30 per cent off tuition fees from international scholarships offered at UOW, but will need to apply. Country bursaries of 10-20 per cent off tuition fees will be applied automatically.
