What will I learn?

Learn about the design and manufacture of the latest innovations in implantable medical devices, such as cochlear implants, pacemakers, MRI scanners, hip and knee replacement and bionic organs. Contribute to innovative discoveries in the fields of tissue engineering and bioelectronics.The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Biomedical Engineering) is an undergraduate coursework degree that will help you develop a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of biomedical engineering. This course is accredited by Engineers Australia and other major professional engineering institutions.You will complete degree foundational core units in mathematics and computing, along with a suite of multidisciplinary project units. You will also complete stream core and specialist elective units in biomedical engineering, and can choose to complete an optional specialisation.Additionally, you will complete elective units as needed to make up the requirements of the course from either the Engineering disciplinary pool or the shared pool. In your final year you will complete an honours thesis in biomedical engineering.Throughout your degree, you will undertake professional engagement activities as part of the Professional Engagement Program, including engineering work experience in the final year.

Entry requirements

For international students

A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.

IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
