What will I learn?

This combined program will provide you with the skills to analyse the forces within a structure and to design its skeleton to support these forces, complemented by the conceptual and aesthetic essential of the design process. If you are passionate about architectural and structural engineering design and want to become a professional who can work fluidly across these two areas, then this program is right for you.The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Civil Engineering)/Bachelor of Design in Architecture is a combined undergraduate coursework degree that will provide you with the skills to analyse the forces within a structure and design its skeleton to support these forces, complemented by the conceptual and aesthetic essentials of the design process.This course is accredited by Engineers Australia and other major professional engineering institutions. You will complete Engineering degree foundational core units in mathematics and computing, along with a suite of multidisciplinary project units. You will also complete stream core and specialist elective units in civil engineering.In your final year, you will complete an honours thesis in civil engineering. Throughout your degree, you will undertake professional engagement activities as part of the Professional Engagement Program, including engineering work experience in the final year.Concurrently with the Bachelor of Engineering, you will complete core units from the Design in Architecture table including a number of studios and workshops.

Entry requirements

For international students

A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.

IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
