What will I learn?

A full-time member of the academic staff, experienced in research in the The Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A虏I虏), will be appointed as supervisor for each student in the Doctor of Philosophy - Information Technology. Associate supervisors, internal or external, will be appointed to assist the principal supervisor. Students may be required to meet certain attendance requirements and will be required to complete a thesis embodying the results of research carried out in the field of study specified at the time of enrolment. Students will be referred to prospective supervisors in order to establish a possible research project. The Doctor of Philosophy is normally completed over two to four years of full-time or part-time equivalent and can be taken in either Campus or online mode.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be considered for selection into a Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) degree, you are required to have completed either:

a research project in a related area including a thesis which is equivalent to at least 25% of a year's full-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with achievement of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 70% or equivalent

a masters degree (research) in a related area

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL IBT: 79 Writing 21

C1 ADVANCED and C2 PROFICIENCY: 176 No band less than 169

PTE: 58 No less than 50 in each skill
