What will I learn?

The Sydney Medical Physics program provides specialist postgraduate training in the application of radiation physics, dosimetry, imaging and radiobiology for a range of medical conditions including cancer, and to radiation detection and protection. The Master of Medical Physics will set you on the path to becoming a clinical medical physicist. This entry-level qualification will give you the foundation knowledge to work within a clinical setting across areas of medicine including cancer treatment, diagnostic imaging, and health physics.The Master of Medical Physics is a postgraduate coursework degree that will give you the foundational knowledge to work within a clinical setting across different areas of medicine including cancer treatment, diagnostic imaging and health physics. It is accredited by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). You will complete core units in medical physics, including a research project.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to this course requires:

a bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum credit average and a major in physics or equivalent; or

completion of the requirements for the Graduate Diploma in Medical Physics with a credit average or better.

IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
