According to a report by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the demand for cybersecurity professionals in Malaysia is expected to grow at a rate of 10% annually, with a market size of RM4.5 billion by 2025. Additionally, the country鈥檚 networking industry is projected to reach RM34.4 billion by 2024, driven by the growth of 5G networks and the increasing adoption of cloud computing. To support this growth, the Malaysian government has established the National Cyber Security Policy and launched the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, which aims to enhance the country鈥檚 cybersecurity infrastructure and create a pool of skilled professionals.
In the global scene, a report by Cybersecurity Ventures states that, global cybercrime costs are expected to reach $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. Additionally, a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimates that cybercrime and cyber espionage together result in a global cost of $600 billion annually.
