Students who pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts build a solid understanding of and appreciation for the power of theatre and performance.

Students receive academic training and hands-on experience in the foundational areas of theatre arts, including script analysis, acting, technical theatre, play production, directing, voice and body technique, theatre history, and dramaturgy. Advanced course work provides specialization in single or multiple areas of interest.
Opportunities
Students pursuing this degree have abundant opportunities to engage in our extensive annual mainstage, second-stage, laboratory theatre season, our community-based programming including touring productions, as well as various student organizations.
Graduates of our program have had successful careers in the professional theatre, education field and have gone on to advanced study in graduate and professional training programs.

EMU admits students on a sliding scale based primarily on a combination of high school grade point average. If you have a high GPA, you may be admitted even if your test score is below our average. If you have a high test score, you may be admitted with a lower-than-average GPA.
