What will I learn?

The Graduate Certificate in Organizational Development is a five-course (15 credit hours) curriculum designed to prepare professionals who understand and apply organizational development techniques and strategies in ways that lead to greater organizational effectiveness. Individuals entering the OD field or current OD professionals or consultants will find this certificate program beneficial.

Degree Requirements: 15 hours

A maximum of three graduate credit hours may be transferred to a College of Business graduate certificate in an area of specialization. Please view the course description for prerequisite.

Required Courses: 6 hours

MGMT 602 - Theory and Techniques of Organizational Development 3 hrs
MGMT 610 - Diagnostic Techniques and Research Methods 3 hrs

Restricted Electives: 9 hours

Choose three courses from the following:

MGMT 600 - Leading Innovation and Change 3 hrs
MGMT 613 - Leadership in Business Organizations: Theory and Practice 3 hrs
MGMT 615 - Organization Design and Strategy 3 hrs
MGMT 616 - Negotiation and Influence Applications for Business 3 hrs
MGMT 628 - Human Resource Development 3 hrs
MGMT 638 - Building Continuous Improvement Teams 3 hrs
MGMT 648 - Communication and Organizational Effectiveness 3 hrs

Entry requirements

For international students

A four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution. In addition, a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program, is required for full admission. Applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements may be considered for conditional admission.
