Pre-Professional Studies are designed for students planning to pursue further study at a professional school. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor as soon as possible to discuss course selection, to gather information regarding admission requirements for professional schools, and to select an appropriate undergraduate major.
This program is designed for students who wish to transfer to an architecture program at another university. Students are strongly advised to consult with an advisor as soon as possible to select courses and to review admission requirements to architectural school. Typically, a student will transfer to an architectural school after a maximum of two years. Department advisors at EMU maintain contact with universities that offer related four-year programs in order to maximize the value of the transfer program of study at the University to other universities. Students planning to transfer to four-year programs should not complete EMU鈥檚 General Education requirements.

EMU admits students on a sliding scale based primarily on a combination of high school grade point average. If you have a high GPA, you may be admitted even if your test score is below our average. If you have a high test score, you may be admitted with a lower-than-average GPA.
